X3 mixing video

Anyone know of a good video tutorial for mixing in X3?

I'm having trouble getting different instruments to come through. The drum track is usually ok, but when I add guitars and bass it sounds off. Usually it is the bass that sounds buried and has no definition. I guess I need to learn proper recording levels as well as mixing technique.

Although it was meant for X1, the mixing with Sonar series on groove3 was pretty good and most of the info still applies. Also, it sounds like your issue is not so much SOnar related but just general mixing stuff we all need help with from time to time.  Maybe get a 30 day or year pass on groove 3, check out the general mixing videos and then the Sonar specific ones.

I concur. The Groove3 Sonar X1 Mixing Rock tutorial is excellent and almost entirely still applies in everything covered. It's available in the Cakewalk Store as well as at Groove3.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

This video was thrown out a while ago in a thread asking about the FabFilter Pro-Q plug-n (EQ based video). It is made to show off that plug-in, but the guy does a real-world mixing example and is well-done (he does a lot of talking of the "why" as he works - plus I love his use of the word "rubbish" while he is working, lol).

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Thanks, I'm going to buy the video from the cw store. Just watching the sample video I learned something!

I saved the FabFilter video to watch later on. Thanks again. :)

I highly recomend the Groove3 Mixing with Sonar video. The guy who did I them is very good.

I would stick away from the SWA Mix Clinic video, personally. It's not very good, IMO.
