The CH as Garbage Dump
With respect to the “You Post Toooo Much” thread that is locked, why does Cakewalk choose to dump crap like that in the CH … the thread was crap … but I really take offense to the fact that “they” feel it is OK to unload garbage here!!!!! The whole idea of having a dumping ground creates a really negative environment … so much so that somebody who I am assuming is a respected forumite thinks it’s OK to say this:
OK. The fun stuff. Lots of constructive threads involving Mother Teresa and clean apartments coming from DKFH. At least Conley's threads are Sonar related. Jeesh. Keep it in the Coffee House Bozo.
Well, I personally found the initial thread offensive but I also think comments like the one above are pretty mean spirited towards the folks who hang out in the Coffee House (good, honest, hard working folk) … but apparently in the Cake world, it is OK to think that way, and look at the members who hang out here as second class. Cake really needs to reconsider the ongoing use of the CH as a landfill.

The fact that the mods stated that "this is a place to help each other out not tear each other down" AND then dumps it in the CH, seems counterproductive to me.
This thread (in question) that's been locked and then dumped here, shows a complete disregard for the CH.....AKA garbage dump. Meaning, here ya go CH, feel free to read this unproductive material that'll do no good to anyone.
It's not like the folks in here "need to be taught a lesson" as "Don't post stuff like this".......on the contrary, this locked thread would do more productive service to the general public upstairs, rather than the respectful folks down here.

As one of those that may be viewed as an "upstairs" peoples I thought it was rude of it getting dumped here as well. It should have simply been deleted.
I'm with ya and thanks for posting this. I was going to but didn't want to clutter up the CH with my pontifications on the matter as I am only an occasional visitor.
As far as SHS's comment... I think he was referencing some of the OPs other OT threads and not necessarily a slag against this place... but IDK.

Yeah, absolutely no point in locking it then putting it here. Either delete it or lock it and leave it where it was. Funny how the real biatchfest stuff usually occurs upstairs yet it's the CH that gets the bad name.

Last time we deleted his thread we were berated for censorship. The thread did not belong in the SONAR forum and I didn't want to delete it because we can't seem to win.

Meh. This is one of the most laid back forums I've seen in regards to moderation. I've always found the cries of "censorship" to be silly when there is obvious blatant abuse of the TOS taking place. I say nuke 'em from orbit and don't sweat about those who feel slighted.
We are guests in your house. If we take a dump on the carpet you have every right to kick us out.

I think I read that when you apply a high-pass filter in SONAR that all of the unwanted low frequencies are also dumped into the Coffee House... It would explain a lot actually.

I had the same feeling about us being dissed--perhaps no as strong as others--but I had it. I wouldn't have been able to to communicate the feeling quite so well. I understand that Ryan and the moderator's job here can be particularly difficult at times and I appreciate your efforts. So instead of complaining, I'll take a shot at a (constructive)suggestion or two.
Is it so difficult to create a new forum? Call it the Dump, the Pit or something more neutral and put all that kind of stuff in there.
Then these treads will be available to those who prefer it. Maybe it can be cleaned out periodically.
Another thought that might be easier to do. Add a unique icon to identify the thread whether or not it's moved. Then we can ignore or read them as desired.

The whole "negative environment" thing is what got me dumped lured here in the first place. I can't help myself. It's in my blood.... type, that is. B- Just imagine if the CH didn't exist.
