X3 Trial Has No Tape Emulator!
Though it says it does in the description: "ProChannel Console & Tape Emulator" See for yourself: http://www.cakewalk.com/products/sonar/web-trial.aspx I was really hoping to give it a try. Is this an "ooops!"? Or have we TRIAL users been duped? Steve

Yes, that is the case. Wanted to give it a spin too. The demo page does say that it is included, but it isn't. Probably just an oversight. CW can you re-issue the demo file to include it?
Tried out the melodyne demo and it does integrate well. Is the essential version good enough for correcting the odd bum note and converting audio to MIDI?
The Nomad plugins would have been nice to play with too, but I understand that including them in the demo might allow them to be copied.
Does feel like taking a car for a test-drive but being told you can't use the lights or turn right though!

Yes, Melodyne Essential is more than adequate for editing monophonic material. If you have the demo of both versions, I recommend you try both of these features out. The videos on Celemony's site are a very good way to get acquainted with Melodyne.

So the description page has a confirmed "bug" then.  They should remove that line so as not to mislead anyone... else. As for Melodyne, I'm DLing it now. With my connection it will only take an hour. ugh!

The Nomad Blue Tubes are LOCKED to Sonar...so copying them would be a waste of time... They should have included them and had them also time out. IF they're not giving you the things that make the program "THE PROGRAM", then it's a SAD demo...

+1 The Nomad plug-ins are even locked so you cannot use them in earlier versions of SONAR, so they do not even need to be set to expire.

Besides, the 3rd party plugins is not what makes Sonar. Perhaps those are available as trials from their respective vendors.
There are also trials for some of cakewalk Prochannel plugins.

Exactly. Also Cake should make sure every single plugin ever made should work with their software. Plugins that are over a thousand years old are especially Cakes fault. If it was always working before Sonar was upgraded Cake should be writing million year old code workarounds to fix it. Any third party code should automatically be cakes fault. Developer public floggings should be a monthly occurance. Cake don't ever care, after they finish work their employees strangle cats for sampling purposes ;) I still can't get my plugin developed in COBOL to work :(

They have plugins that old?? WOW! Apparently dinosaurs weren't as dumb as we thought. Even so, I'd think those plugins would be priceless and locked under glass for viewing purposes only. It's a little known fact that several of the great extinctions occurred because old plugins often crashed and Dinos couldn't resist them, gorging themselves endlessly, long after any real need for more existed.

That's funny, someone dredged up a thread in ( I think) Home studio forum that the OP was complaining the 2003 version was not supported by Calkwalk anymore.. He wanted it on CD format because he couldn't use the floppy on his W7 laptop. Best read on the forum this week...:)

Ha - that's like my dad complaining to Verizon because the battery in his 7 year old flip phone died and they did not give him a free replacement battery under warranty. (which did happen)

That would explain the title track "Asteroid Disasteroid" found on what resembled an ancient album cover discovered some years ago deep in an undisclosed area of the densest rain forest known to man. At the time they just couldn't figure out what they had found due to the hieroglyphic encryption. It was years before anyone could actually interpret it, according to one archaeologist anyway.

Further evidence... Mixing with Sonar 3.01  Recording with Sonar 3.01 (observe this is before decibel became a standard, lbs were the standard back then, around 60lbs was deemed a good enough level, in fact this was part of the origins of "heavy" sounds).

It was even earlier than 2003. He was talking about Cakewalk 3 rather than Sonar 3.
