I can't imagine spending $150 for it.  Maybe 5 years ago.  Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I figure that $150 can go to NI Komplete when it goes on sale again.  I'm not trying to dump on IK.  They have made some good products over the years.  I just think they waited too long

I'm not dumping them either...

I will use what I've already paid good money for...
But they won't get a penny from me in this arena again...

Honestly I've used SampleTank 2.5 like maybe three times and probably (IIRC) the experiments I did were eventually replaced with something else.

Whereas KONTAKT is used quite frequently.

I don't have SampleTank. First time buyers of SampleTank should get 70% off and be able to use their Jam points, which can never be used on any item when it really matters.

No idea but mine keep running out of time but are still there. They've ran out of time three times so far. I suspect they would survive a nuclear bomb. Cockroaches and Jam points roaming the earth.

I have over a 100 jampoints, but haven't had the need to use them.

Plus, they can't be used on their monthly group buys or weekly promo's anyway.

You can use them towards half off license transfer credits to sell a license to someone else...

ONLY on the FULL, overpriced, not on sale, completely ridiculous IK Web Store.

Earn points that can never be used unless you pay FULL price...GREAT PROMO IK...
that's a real incentive to buy...

Wow, you people are really intense about this sampletank thing. Even after all the complaining, my guess is that at least 70% of you will still buy it.

Hey Bapu. Good memory!

Yeah, I haven't partook in the conversation until now because I am not a Sampletank owner, and so I didn't really feel that my input would really hold any merit.
Sorry if my inital comment seemed snarky. I mean it more "in jest".
I understand people's frustration. I had a similar issues with Motu (software) as well as Eastwest's PLAY engine. In both cases I will never buy anything from them again (even if Digital Performer's audio for video and scoring features ARE tempting).

And incidentally, I no longer work there. Moved on to greener pastures, though my days of free software NFRs (including from Ik Multimedia) are over.

I had tried to buy the Upgrade from my Native Instruments version of EWQL Orchestra Silver
to the PLAY version of Silver.  I paid my $49 (half off) and waited.  Never a word.

When I contacted them they said "We couldn't charge your Credit Card for GOLD so we
cancelled your order"

I said "I didn't order GOLD - I ordered Silver, and if you look at the order it SAYS Silver and
you already charged my Card for it."

2 days later, hadn't heard a word.  Got a refund of my $49.  Never a word.  Not a
"We're sorry for the confusion" ....NOTHING...

DONE....never again.  They can kiss my furry brown bahooki....

Soundsonline will NEVER get a penny from me again.

I had an easy experience with Soundsonline. I purchased Complete Composers Collection (Symphonic Orchestra Gold,Symphonic Choirs,Voices Of Passion,Gypsy,Ra,Goliath,Ministry Of Rock,Fab Four) on their mega sale last year. The stuff came on a 1TB hard drive that I backed up and then installed in my computer. I have since updated to Play 4.0 and so far so good.

I have to admit, since I own the IK total studio bundle I will upgrade ST <if> and only if the price is veeeeery reasonable. I would like a bigger interface, if nothing else.

Unless it's next to FREE...
They'll get nothing from ME...

See what I did there???  And I sang it too!!!

Chances are even those who say they won't buy it will...but I won't,
unless my upgrade price is less then $50.  I'll wait for the clearance sale!

THE LINE HAS TO BE DRAWN...

The more I realize that I've hardly used any of the ST2.5 variants the more I realize that I don't need ST3.

I'm seriously considering going through all projects bouncing all ST2.5 track to audio, deleting ST2.5 (or any of the variants) and then uninstalling.

Amplitube 3 and ARC 2 I lurves and will continue to use.

+1...and T-Racks too...I love my IK stuff...but really...how much "guff" should we take?

I think that a CLEAR message NEEDS to sent to IK..that if you don't support your customers...
DON'T EXPECT THEM TO SUPPORT YOU!!!

THAT is the ONLY way things will ever change...otherwise..they'll just do whatever they want,
and keep snubbing their nose at those of us who LITERALLY made the company.

I used to be into T-Racks and I'll keep them active.

I'll take no more "guff" on ST3. That's final.

As a guy who runs a software company, I really get their attempt to be unique in a licensing model and to try new products. I feel for them in a lot of ways, because it seems overall people LIKE IK products, but on every forum, when the topic comes up, it quickly changes to a discussion of their web site, the licensing mechanism, their jam points - everything EXCEPT their products. I prefer Waves SSL comp on my master bus, but actually prefer the IK SSL bus on my drums - great product. When I recently went to buy their Echoplex plugin, I found it a muddled and confusing product.

I'd like to see them succeed as a company, and I think their challenge is everything EXCEPT the quality of their products. That's a shame, but fixable should they choose to do so...

Me, I'm getting closer and closer to dumping everything IK.

In recent times, the ONLY things 'IK' that I've loaded into a project were the metering, and a couple of TRacks to try out - final compression.

Unfortunately (for IK), those products are OK, but because of all the HOT Air and LACK of action in updating the IK products that WERE (past tence) once important to me, I feel I've been totally put off to the point of no return.

It's ridiculous, I load the IK metering and compressor, then spending all my time thinking about what other (non-IK) product I could use instead to achieve the result I want.

And before long, I pull everything except maybe the metering - and then that too.

Sure I'll take a look at st3 to see what it is, but I'm really thinking I'll most likely be an "Ex-IK-Customer" before very long.

Honestly can't see me loading any of their stuff when I do my next DAW upgrade.

+1 Cliff...

If iK doesn't pull a rabbit out of their arse....I won't be upgrading anything that I own.
I'll use what I've paid for...but no upgrades.  As good as some of the things are, there
are alot of (and better) alternatives.
