Maybe it's just me, but this pairing does not seem that unlikely. Pop stars are often paired up from different eras. I would be more shocked if she was paired up with some obscure act from the 80's.

Adele is a diamond. It's so great to listen to someone who is not over-phrasing, decorating, shouting on the limits of her of her voice (and beyond) and/or making vocal gimmicks, but simply singing well with a great voice fully dressed.

Talking of Collins, I watched this last night;
Fascinating insight into the 'reunion' tour in 2007. Lots of tension going on behind the scenes, and several real Spinal Tap moments..especially the search for the perfect bar stool..
It's easy to imagine that guys like this can just pick up and play their own stuff without thinking, but after a 15 year lay-off they were plainly struggling in rehearsal, whereas Daryl Stuermer and Chester Thompson were prepared and ready to go.
