Clear Tempo Change? Problems with an extra short measure

I was playing around with inserting a tempo change in the middle of the song.  We decided to ditch it before we even got it up and running but I did click a few buttons and think I might have messed something up.  Towards the end of the song the clips were no longer lined up - I started to fix them and noticed and very short stutter in the grid - basically a 1 beat or 1/2 beat measure.  I think it was where I tried to insert the tempo change.

When I tried to insert the tempo change I clicked project->insert tempo change and then changed the tempo.  It didn't work correctly and then we moved on...  (I think it was something with groove clip looping, but that's another post...)

Basically, I just want to reset the whole song to the same tempo...  A steady 4/4 at 11Bpm.  Is there any way to do that?

Ugh... I don't think it's a tempo problem anymore.  I was able to delete any tempo changes from view->tempo

But I still can't figure out why there is that extra grid line....  Any help is greatly appreciated!  I'm so close to being finished with this project.

I notice that it goes off when the "smart grid" option is de-selected.  Apparently that's supposed to show me "relavent" snap locations.  Is that the culprit?  Perhaps it added that little bit in...  I think I got the problem solved by deselecting smart grid.  I'm curious what others think about this feature.

Smart Grid just auto-scales the snap resolution as you zoom the timeline in an out. It shouldn't change the appearance of anything. Base on your oriignal desciption, it sounds like you also have Meter changes in the project. Check View > Meter/Key, and make sure you just have one 4/4 entry at the beginning.

That's what I thought too...  I did what you said and I had no meter changes - only one.  It's really strange, when If I toggle the "Smart Grid" option on and off, the clips become aligned and unaligned.

Check out these screen shots...  All I did was hold down the blue 1 sample under the snap to button and checked "smart grid".

Look at the two clips in the center - they are aligned perfectly - right?

Not anymore!!!  The arrow points to the extra line.

Any idea what this is all about?  I have to zoom way in to see it.
