trouble with TH2 and PodFarm 2 (new to SonarX3)

Hello All,
 
glad to be aboard. I am lost.
I am a guioarist. I dragged the TH2(?) am simulator as an effect. I can see it as it pops up. No matter what I do I cannot get the input and output on the top of the effects to register a feed. I thought I would try to get that working before trying my brand new Line 6 PodFarm2 (which I love as stand alone software) up and running. BTW...I cannot get SonarX3 to even acknowledge Podfarm2 as a vst.. For effects...am I supposed to run through any kind of buss? any guitarists out there that can get me some short cuts and tips and secrets? thanks in advance. Hope you can help.
