Playlist Behavior in Platinum
I've installed Platinum but when I try to load a playlist it always opens in X3. At first I thought it was nice that it remembered what version the playlist was created in. So I tried creating and saving a playlist in Platinum. It still opened the playlist in X3 if you click on the playlist icon. The only way I can open a playlist in Platinum is . . . open Platinum go to file-open in the menus. How can I get playlists to open in Platinum from a shortcut on the desktop?

This sounds like a windows association issue and possibly bug in Platinum not creating/updating the association. I do not use the playlist and never created the association in a previous version of SONAR. Does your registry have a .set under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT?

Yes it does and it refers to playlist file, however I don't know where to go in the registry from there to change things.

Good. What ever the default value is for .set is located further down in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. This is the key which controls the file association. You should see a path to shell > open > command. The default in command is the association.

I just hope that when they fix it, it doesn't freak out the registry because it's already there.

It won't, in the past the registry was written on demand as part of the install process without regard to previous entries. C3 does not provide an option to update the associations. They happen automatically. It appears either this one was missed or dropped by design. IDK. CW will need to answer this one.

We did a lot of installer changes in this cycle. I'm going to go through and dig into this. If there's any changes required, it'll hopefully be put into update 1.

Seth not sure what to do with this thread, is there a CWBRN number or maybe somebody could report it into problem reports so we can update the subject title? Or maybe it's fixed? Thanks...
