save effect chain vs save bin effects

Hi,
I can't get used to the effects chain window…Can't see the advantage of
Is there a way to save all the effects inserted in a effect bin? (including the presets and PC effects)
This would be great.

The first option that comes to mind is to save the track / tracks as a track template. Of course this will keep the buss routing and buss channels intact when you save and reload. It will also keep the fx and their settings for the tracks and busses.

Most of my Pro Channels are full of Fx chains, loaded with either 3rd party or Cakewalk plugins, or combinations.
I cannot remember the last time I used the Fx bin.

Yes, this a good way of getting there but not exactly want I need.
Lets  look at my needs now. We have 10 songs of this artist. We mixed one and we want to copy all the plains to the same track(s) on all the projects (songs).
What is the easiest way?
(a save/load bin effects would make sense to me…)
thanks

From your example, saving and loading fx in bins are fx chains. Those are generally easy to work with and are reliable. Once you load the chain, you can right click on the chain and unload the fx within the chain into the bin if you don't want to work from the fx chain interface.

But since you do not really like chains, I think Bristol's comments may be your best workflow suggestion. IE: Loading a prochannel preset that is complete with a your vocal effect modules/settings is painless on a per track basis. And with the prochannel offering it's version of fx chain module(s)/fx bin(s), you have what you need. Just drag a fx chain module(s) into the prochannel, load it with efx, tweak and save the preset. ex. ""ArtistVoxFx"

You can then load that preset on vocal tracks for any project.

I dunno... saving the FX Bin as an FX Chain really does seem like the best option for your case.   What it is about FX Chains that doesn't work for you?

Hi SteveC,
I like to see the plugins on the bin. open and swap them around etc.
You save the plugins to an effect chain, then you open it in another project and it will show the chain in the bin:
1- You know know what is in the chain until you double click it.
2- You have to open the chain to open the plugins

Maybe I am not using the effect chain in the right way…but I am not getting used to it (same happened to track layers when they were first introduced…)

To use the same project setup from one project to the next, save the original project as a template and then create new projects using the template and import the audio into the new project. The other ways to save an FX bin are track templates and as an FX chain. If desired, FX chains can be unpacked into the FX bin.

That could be the quickest interim solution.

Alternatively, if you like to use a mixture of an FX chain along with a selection of Pro Channel modules, simply save the PC as a preset, giving it a unique name such as _CJ For Copying.

This way, you can load the entire preset into any Pro Channel you want. The underscore at the front of the name is important because when you go to open a preset, it will appear as the very first item on the list.

I didn't read this whole thing but save your channel effects bin as effect chain and then when you load, simply run extract effects and you get all the effects split out and there settings intact just as you started.
