Tuning Audio

Hello all. Question - (already did a search):
 
Is it possible to tune a stereo WAV file in Sonar to standard tuning? I have a bunch of backing tracks done on different synths, and many of them are off by a hair, but noticeable. I know this wasn't possible before, but was hoping that X3 had the capability to do this.

    I don't know about Sonar, but the Goldwave audio editor has a pitch change function.

    Melodyne, and possibly several others can do this with varying degrees of success. Many of the pitch-fixers will leave artifacts behind after the fix.  Mono tracks are generally no problem..... such as a solo voice or sax, but get into the complete mix with a full band, and vocals and harmonies and unless you have top of the line software, you may not be totally happy with the results.  It's always worth a try though.

    the better option is to tune the instruments BEFORE you record.
     
    I know it's not always possible...... the other option is to tune your instruments to the slightly non standard tuning used on the original tracks.

      These are tracks done using various synths, some of which cannot be tuned. The problem arises when playing live along with the tracks that are slightly out of concert pitch; some over, some under. I need a way to tune the backing tracks to concert.

      It's not possible to do this live.
