Audio issues

I've been using the Roland Quad-Capture for a couple of years now, and everything's been fine.  Yesterday after recording some vocals, I turned off the phantom power.   The second I did, there was a loud buzz in my monitors.   I clicked out of Sonar, and the buzz went away.   I went back into Sonar, and the buzz came back.    So I turned off the computer.

This morning I opened up Sonar (still finishing current recordings in X1 Producer) and the buzz was still there, but then after about a minute it went away.   However, now the volume in playback is loud - LOUD!    And the sound doesn't seem quite right.   It's like it's a little dull.   Hard to explain.   But something happened when I turned off the phantom power yesterday, and I don't know what happened.    I'm thinking it's in the Roland interface, maybe?   But then why would the buzz go away when I click out of Sonar?
Opinions?

    Have you restarted your computer?

What happens in a brand new project?

    Have input levels changed?

Are your settings still correct?  (driver mode)

The problem began yesterday, and this morning it hasn't changed.   I haven't started a new project.  I've just been working on the songs I have.   From what I see, all the levels and settings are the same.   All I did yesterday was turn off the phantom power on my interface, and that's when the buzz and loudness occurred.
    I'm baffled.

I found the problem.   I have an external mixer.   Somehow a knob got turned, which turned the volume up and panned things to the right.   I looked but didn't see it until now.  Doesn't explain the buzz, but as long as it's ok, I'm good.

We have had earlier trouble with cats in the system.  Perhaps you have a cat?

Glad you have it figured out.

No, our cat passed last year.   I honestly have no clue how the knob was turned.  I never touch the mixer.   Just glad I finally found the issue.

@Greg - I just spent the last 20 minutes listening through a bunch of your Sound Cloud clips.

You are a FANTASTIC guitar player.

If you ever need any keyboard tracks - please shoot me a note - I would welcome any opportunity to work with you.

Thank you very much, Bob!  I really appreciate the comment!
I'm currently finishing up some songs.  But when I write new ones, I will let you know.  I would welcome writing with a keyboard player!   :)
