Translation for the non-Americans: The Seattle Seahawks won their first Hand Egg Championship in franchise history. (And they didn't have to fake injury once! )

Even though my guys basically beat themselves, the Hawks did look good. They showed up ready to play, and deserve the victory. I can only imagine the crowds around SeaTac tomorrow. I remember how crazy it was in Denver when we did win the Superbowl.

Maybe he means they beat themselves when they made the mistake of coming out of the tunnel prior to the coin flip?

True enough, but if we had at least shown up, it might not have been quite so bad

It makes you wonder.......what happens to "Denver" if Manning retires or gets injured?
If he's not clicking, their hurting.
I honestly think Seattle wins that game with either Russell Wilson or Tavares Jackson at QB.

Or no quarterback at all? The safety plus the runback of the second half kick-off were enough points to win... No other offense was needed! LOL.

Who would think a safety and a kick return would beat or could beat the #1 offense in the NFL...?

Actually, I didn't think about this originally, but I wonder what the odds would have been going in that Seattle's Defense would outscore Denver's Offense? (A safety and an interception returned for a touchdown.)

Summary for the Brits and others outside North America... Denver had what was widely considered the best offensive team, Seattle the best defense. That should have guaranteed an exciting matchup, and is why this particular game was highly anticipated. Opinions were split as to who would win. A great deal of money changed hands in legal and illegal wagering. Even I had $1 at risk (which I lost). So it was a great surprise when Seattle's defense outscored Denver's much-vaunted offense. Unlike your football, where only one player on each team performs a purely defensive role and players switch from offense to defense every few seconds, in American football each team assumes one or the other role at a time. The Defense is not expected to score points, and doing so even once during a game is a rare event. It is probably also noteworthy that the two teams represent the only two states that have legalized marijuana. You may draw your own conclusions from that.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Sorry to be a nit-picker, Bit. Your statement about the teams being "widely considered" #1 in each category makes it sound like it's opinion. I think that Denver's offense and Seattle's defense were statistically rated as #1. They probably are going by points scored for the offense and points allowed for the defense. Other than that, I agree with you.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys? X2(X3 pending hardware upgrade), Emulator X2, E-mu 1212M, Virtual String Machine

This team has not lost a game by more than 7 points in the last two years. If the offense ever gets close to the level of the defense we may have a potential dynasty.

Not many NFL dynasty's in this era of salary cap and free agency. I'll take the victory, savor it as long as I can........hope the Hawks are contenders next season.
