X3d has fixed slow arming (RME audio interfaces)!!!

X3d brings good news to RME users!

Cakewalk has finally fixed slow arming of multiple tracks when playback is in stopped state. Previously arming dozen drum tracks could last several seconds while now it happens in a fraction of a second. Cool! No more need to start playback to arm tracks fast.

    Panup,

I'm on X3d build 278 x64 and I still have the issue. I get around it by quick grouping my tracks and enabling them at once. It's not murder. It takes 1/2 a second per track or something? The delay hasn't changed for me.

I'm on the latest RME Driver and Firmware and using the RME UCX.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

@Panup not a Cake issue its was something else like drivers or config. Maybe you could tell us your exact interface/firmware/drivers so it can be compared with other RME users. Thanks.

@gswiz An AUD.INI rename may be in order and windows update although you've probably done this. Cheers.

Also a dodgy driver smoking gun is that the pause goes away if you uncheck:

    RME UFX, connected via USB
    Newest firmware and drivers
    ASIO mode

    Arm changes during playback/record enabled.

Sorry to hear you guys have still problems. I'll check my preferences in more detail later tonight and share them with you.

I have 2 x FF800's and haven't experienced this problem. Is it something with the UCX only?

Thanks Panup, a big ask, maybe you could post your AUD.INI file as well?

If all can compare drivers/firmware/Sonar versions with a working system this might help sort the issue out .

Also those who have issues please try is with arm changes off #5 (and make sure you are on the latest Window update (there may be USB fixes).

For the record the latest UCX/UFX driver is 3.081 and the latest firmware is 341/42:

    Cheers...

    EDIT

And please confirm you are using USB or firewire.

Arming has been slow in my FF800's since X1. I haven't used FF800 units for a while and thus I don't know how they function with X3d.

In Sonar 8.5 FF800 arming was always intantenous.

Noel has weighed in on this in the past, Alex. It isn't like a windows update type of solution.

There were USB fixes with Windows update so nevertheless worth doing for people who haven't done it if they are using USB. Regardless of whether this is relevant or not my strategy is always try to get people up to the same level/bass platform so it's easier to compare behaviours (avoids other unknown factors such as one person on a USB fix, whilst another isn't). Of course this is never an exact science as people are using different hardware and OS, but nevertheless it is helpful. Note driver may be dependant on code that has been updated via windows update (even away from USB fixes, windows driver model for instance, or layers of the operating system that interface between the HAL). This is a comparison exercise methinks esp if somebody has got it working.

Slow arming is still an issue on my system (UFX).  If this were the only problem I wouldn't mind.  But I have found it is related to a series of other issues that are more problematic (e.g., pops, dropouts).  Fortunately I found an effective work around:

Noel from CW and Matthias from RME are in contact about this. RME is currently looking into this based on the information I provided in the above linked thread.
