Static and popping during audio playback

I posted this in Home Studio by accident.  I have recently discovered that the problem occurs in all audio playback. Thanks for any help.

I have Sonar X1 Essentials with wdos7 64 bit. I am using a Line6 UX2 interface with pod farm. It has worked fine for a couple years.  Now when I play back a multi track CW project it pops, skips, or burps.  It sounds like an over driven track (for a millisecond) but there are not overdriven tracks.  I tried changing the buffer speeds but it still does the same thing.  I updated the drivers for the UX2 and still the same thing. It is never in the same spot (measure) and happens on my r MP3 saved on my computer and also on the songs forum.  Any ideas?  Oh, how are y'all?

Check all your gain stages for clipping, every single one.
its either a clipping issue or a sound card driver setting issue. So please explain in detail what your sound card settings are
