SHIFT-F

I love SHIFT-F. But I don't love how I can't seem to control where Sonar thinks the end of the project is. As a result, when I hit SHIFT F more often than not, I see lots of blank space on the right. I have deleted automatic tracks past the end of the clips and can sometimes get the project in view just the way I like. But its time consuming to do that.  I wish there was an easier way - a way for me to define where the project ends on the time line, so that SHIFT -F works perfect.
 
Is there a way? I have looked, no can find...

    ctrl+alt+h works on selected area
    set a marker where you want it to treat the end of the project...
    ctrl+a to select all tracks
    click in the time ruler at the top between the start and your marker, setting your selected region...
    then use ctrl+alt+h

    Rick, you must have SOMETHING way out to the right making Sonar think the project is longer than you expect.
     
    Things to check:
    • Hidden tracks
    • Archived tracks
    • Envelope nodes
    • Meter/Key changes
    • Tempo changes
    • Buss envelope nodes
    • Midi events (notes/controllers)

    As already mentioned by Bristol Jonesy, envelope nodes (bus or track) are often the culprit for this.

    Also look for tiny bits of audio clips left over by deleting with an incomplete selection or comp recording. Hitting Ctrl+End and zooming that location can help reveal things like this. Also try checking the Event List view for all tracks, including audio. Clip and automation start times and durations are shown there as well as MIDI events.
