Overloud Mark Studio 2 deal

I am actually in need of a bass amp vst and was wondering if anyone has experience with the overloud.  It is on sale, so I may grab it if the consensus is that is good.  I would prefer "freaking awesome", but sometimes "good" has to work too.

Seems like a good deal. Fortunately all the Overloud products have demo versions.

I would urge you to check out Audiffex GK Amplification 2 Pro. It has 3 GK heads, every GK cabinet they make, about 10 different mikes to chose from, adjustable mic positions, etc. It is absolutely my goto bass amp vst. No stomp boxes or cool FX. Just straight forward killer bass tones. Check out Audiffex website. They are also releasing the 64 bit update this month although I have not had any problems running it in 64 bit Sonar since 8.5.

Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

I have to say that Overloud's TH2 has found it's way in to just about all my projects since X2. Mark One looks very inviting but I love my GK too much. LOL!

Mark 2 is pretty cool although most of the time I just use the "natural" bass D/I sound without amp nowadays (all depends on the sound you are looking for of course).

I'm torn.  I usually just use the DI through my cheap preamp, but an amp sim does add a bit off umph sometimes. I had a chance to use the Ampeg SVX and it was really awesome.  Bit more expensive.  I'll also have to check out the GK stuff.  Thanks.

I typically use a straight di these days myself, but I've been using the Amplitube 3's Ampeg BA 500 on a number of projects lately. I expect the Overloud Mark to be quite good as I've been impressed with the quality of their sound (tho not the interface)... I like the Mark amps live... So I might like the plugin... But I can't afford it...

I have the Mark Bass plug from OverLoud. I like it. I use it and Amplitubes default bass most of the time. Works great. I like it.

Have to agree with Sidroe.  Love GK Amplification 2 Pro.  I demoed the Mark Studio, but found that GK met my needs.  Having said that, you should download the demos of each/both and see which is to your taste.  Bottom line, different players like different amps (or amp sims). Get the one that meets your needs.  Demo'ing them is free.

BTW, the Audiffex GK used to have a free stripped down demo version that was fully functional other than you couldn't save custom presets but if you use it in Sonar the project will remember the settings you used in that project. I'm not sure if it is still available. I'm waiting on the 64 bit update this month!
