[Solved] Rapture's cool but frustrating
I use a GR20 guitar Midi device which is fun.
It has 3 foot pedal things. One is a regular expression pedal. 2 change purpose depending on a setting on the guitar. I usually use them Glide (shifts pitch up or down) or a sort of sustain which varies depending on the patch. Some times the sustain adds new notes to the hold and sometimes it only holds the the notes ringing when I step on the pedal.
Ok...
When the pedals are in patch change mode and I step on them, Rapture stops working. Only way I know to get it working again is to close Sonar and re-open it and sometimes that doesn't work. I know there's an easier way.
But several times this fact has caused me to switch to another synth from rapture because it's easier than trying to fix rapture. If I have restart Sonar several times, I'll get frustrated enough to stop with Rapture. Now, once the recording is laid down, I can route it to rapture without an issue usually.
IDK, shrug. Should I even be asking? I know it's the patch change signal that makes Rapture not work, but I totally want rapture to work!
And, just to say, it's my standard recording setting to record the guitar straight on one channel, the left and right gr20 outputs on 2 more, and the midi on another. So, if I want to change patch on the GR20 while the midi track is routed to Rapture, what do I have to do? Close Sonar, change the patch and re-launch Sonar.
hmmm.
