MASSIVELY disappointed with Registration Process - <Solved>

Are there any Cakewalk staff here that can help me with this? I'd appreciate a pm if you can.

I got my new PC yesterday along with a boxed version of SONAR X3 Producer.
I tried to install last night but the registration process won't let me.

I entered the redemption code and then entered my previous Sonar Producer serial number as prompted but I keep getting the message "Unable to verify registration".
I checked my online account which clearly shows my previous SONAR in 'My Registered Products' so I know I did everything right.

I called the USA helpline (I'm from the UK, so THERE'S a phone-bill I'm not looking forward to) and finally got help from a very very kind lady who tried to get things sorted. She suggested we use mails to discuss as this would be cheaper for me.

After a couple of mails, she concluded (and I quote) "OK, I am having the exact same issue as you were having.  So something is wrong on our side.  Going to try it again and then I am going to have to grab someone from I.T. "

Following this, she agreed to send me my serial numbers for set-up but it was very late in the UK and, unfortunately, when I checked this morning, I had no further mails or resolution.

Why can't I install from the DVDs and then be given a 14-day period to register like most other products I use?

If anyone has anything helpful to say, please feel free. I'm feeling VERY frustrated and disappointed.

Frink.

Is that not the case with Sonar any more?  As far as I recall, that's how is was with X2 and earlier versions.

SonarPlatinum(22.11.0.111)|Mixbus32C(4.3.19)|DigitalPerformer(9.5.1)|Reaper(5.77)
FractalDesign:DefineR5|i7-6850k@4.1GHz|16GB@2666MHz-DDR4|MSI:GamingProCarbonX99a|Matrox:M9148(x2)|UAD2solo(6.5.2)|W7Ult-x64-SP1
Audient:iD22+ASP800|KRK:VXT6|+various-outboard-gear|+guitars&basses, etc.
Having fun at work lately

Hi Kev,

Thanks for your comment. Sadly, this is not the case.

In the box is a card headed "PLEASE READ FIRST BEFORE INSTALLING THE PRODUCT".
On the card is the redemption code and some instructions for how to get a serial number.
When I follow the instructions, it's as I mention above: "Unable to verify registration".

I've tried to install direct from the DVDs but, right at the beginning of the install, I'm asked for a valid serial number which, of course, I don't have yet because the redemption code process has not worked. So no chance to install and register later.

Seems like a brilliant system to prevent fraud - sadly it's preventing me too... :(
Cakewalk support desk is only open Mon-Fri Eastern Time - this rather limits my possibilities of calling for help from the UK (not to mention the 30-minute 'on-hold' time at a very high call cost). I've already lost one weekend of work over this.

Any Cake-employees care to assist?

Thanks scook,

I didn't realise I could do that (I've mailed the registration helpdesk already but wasn't expecting anything for a couple of days...).

Anyway, I took your advice and got some immediate help and a resolution from Ryan.
It turns out that he can do magic.

All set for a big install tomorrow.

Wish me luck  ;-)
