.CWB files and defrag

I have a question concerning .cwb and .cwp files..I recently moved to Sonar X3 and Windows 7 64 bit...(from XP Pro and Sonar 8)
Ive noticed these are associated with file extension manager..where previously they would show the Sonar 8 insignia..I changed both to open with Sonar X3 and I assume this is right?

I also was getting a few dropouts which I never get before..probably something to do with Windows 7..but did notice this article from Cakewalk..
Audio data can be processed most efficiently if it is arranged in consecutive physical locations on your hard drive. During normal SONAR usage, a project's audio data can become fragmented into chunks stored at discontiguous locations on your disk. Accessing these discontiguous chunks can consume extra processing time, which can lead to dropouts.
Open the project file that has audio problems.

2.
Close the project.

4.
Open the Cakewalk Bundle you just closed

So I did the above and when I went to save as a .cwb file and .cwp it told me to choose another name..Do I save it as a .cwb and get rid of old .cwp? I dont want to have a new project with a slightly diff name..I left out where it says saving then reopening as a .cwb file defragments it...then go back to using .cwp...I assume I can reopen it..make a new .cwp then delete the.cwb?

Thanks to everyone for your help! Such a diff experience on 64 and X3 but will do so much more..

Unless you have a very good reason to use bundle files, I'd steer well clear of them.

The op is perfectly correct, this is a great way to defrag a project and is recommended by cakewalk.

Bundle files have an unfair reputation:

I've had a bundle go corrupt on me which meant i lost everything. Thankfully i had a cwp backup which saved my becan.

Another way to accomplish the same thing is to simply do a "save as" to a different location, making sure "copy audio with project" is checked.
Then you can delete the original files nad move your new version to where you'd like it to be.
