X3 Track Colors : Can't Change

I'm working on a project that was originally created in Sonar 8.5, imported to X3 PE. Most of the tracks came in with a waveform color and back ground color that can be modified using the color bar on the left side of the track, but several seem to be locked into only displaying a black waveform on a gray background. I've tried to modify the track colors and clips colors, and nothing makes them change. I'm very much a newby to X3, so it's probably something really obvious that I have missed. Any suggestions?

Any chance those clips are muted?   What happens if you select one and use Ctrl+K?

And the answer is ... the edit filter was set to Volume instead of Clips. There were volume envelopes on these tracks as well as most of the other tracks in the project, so I don't think the envelop itself was the reason. Don't know why some tracks imported from 8.5 differently than others.

Interesting...   I think the oldest projects I've opened in X3 are from X1, so maybe there's something persisting in pre-X series projects coming into play.
