Upgrade time

I am going to upgrade to  Producer X3 from X2 and I want to make sure I get the install right the first time

I  have plenty of disk space still, so that is not an issue

Currently I have Sonar LE and obviously X2 installed and am wondering if it is time to get rid of LE and if there is any benefit or possible bad things in play should I uninstall

I am also wondering about the update process in regard to all things unchanged between X2  AND x3.
Wiil the upgrade replace  the old files and use the same directory, will the upgrade use a different   folder for instruments, midi//sample files.  What about soft synth's? Does the upgrade just leave these if they are indeed unchanged from X2

Are there any choices I am asked to make during the install process about file locations? and if so are their consensus best choices?
I believe the upgrade package is not X3d so that the final step after completing the upgrade process is to install the most current version of X3

The last open point is I am thinking its time to get a new computer dedicated only to the DAW and assume that my  X3 purchase license will allow me to install on a new computer after I have installed it on my current one

No harm in deleting SONAR LE.

All versions of SONAR share some files. Those files are updated during the X3 install process. Plug-ins (including synths) will also be updated.

Answers regarding layout depend on the PC configuration. Could only guess without knowing more about the machine. Defaults are a good start though. The SONAR install process will pick up the current configuration and use it as the basis for X3.

After installing the upgrade, apply X3d then http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013315
