Setting now time in X3(Xseries) - Why the extra step??

I wish I could use the SONAR X series without having to continually figure out what has changed compared to the 8.5 I used which was rock solid and user friendly. There are a bunch of features I used to use in 8.5 seldomly, but I knew they were there if I needed them.

In 8.5 I used to be able to click on the now time in the transport and it would go into an edit mode where I could explicitly tell the now time to go to this point. Now we have to hit the "G" button which means "NOW TIME SET" - yeah, I see how "G" would be related to that process... SMH...

Peace,

    G = Go

    I was not aware of an ability to click the Now time (marker?) to get the Go dialog in 8.5, and can't get anything like that now (in 8.5). Where were you clicking, exactly?

    I usually navigate by clicking in the timeline with or without snap enabled or by using next/previous measure/marker accelerators. Typing in times is  a pretty awkward way to get around.

    If I click the  transport, mine is floating, in 8.5, a second click will highlight the transport time to manually enter a value just like entering any value in the widget field is done.

    An old dog like me knows that SPP and Now Time were what the terminology was to reference the point(er) in a song. I never knew GO was the new SPP or Now Time.  ;)

    Okay. Yes it used to be possible to edit the Now time display in the toolbar the same way you could (and still can) edit From and Thru for punch or loop endpoints. Indeed this is no longer possible in X series due to beautification of the time display as part of the Skylight GUI implementation.
