Controller with faders?

I'm still using Producer 8.5 and I've decided to buy a controller with automated faders. The best value seems to be theMackie Control Universal Pro - can anyone advise me if this would work well with Producer 8.5 or is there some problem with Sonar because of ACT? If so, what controller would you recommend?

Thanks all.

(moved from Sonar Producer forum - thanks for advice!)

The Mackie should work - other people have it set up.  There is also the new behringer controller.  I'd check that out.  If it works it should be the best bang for buck.

I'm not sure exactly what all you want, but I'm using a Behringer BCF2000, which has 8 motorized faders that can work in conjunction with automation.  It sets up as a Mackie Controller.

I've used it in 8.5.3 and all later versions.  I'm using it with X3 now.

What audio interface do you have?

As already mentioned, the Behringer BCF2000 would be one of the least expensive option - and it is working really nicely (I have a BCR2000 which is only rotary controls)

I'm using a Tascam FW1884 which is also a audio interface (FireWire)
Works nicely for me, but not for some. Since it is discontinued you can get it for a steal (I payed about 250€ for mine, brand new)
