Turn off audio preview when clicking on piano roll notes

Is there a way to turn off the sound when clicking on a note in piano roll view?

When I am editing notes, sometimes I do not want to hear it play when I click on it and/or drag it to another note or time on the grid.

i.e. - 808 drums bumping and blaring while I am simply doing some editing/sequencing, changing the note or time.

Thanx!

I am using the smart tool and I want to move a note, but when I click it and/or drop it, the note plays. Can that be note preview be turned off, or a tool be selected to move notes and not hear them when clicking or dropping them?

There are options to turn off velocity audition and polyphonic audition when you have multiple notes selected. But if you don't want to hear anything at all, I think you have to mute the track or do something else to silence the output of the synth.

I don't know (not at the daw now). But if you use nudge (hit Numpad 8/2 to move notes up/down for example) the notes won't play.

Ok yeah I think I was right. What I want to do is not available. I will probably mute the track then.

Yead I use nudge too, but sometimes I have to click the notes or drag them.

    Thanx!

I'm also looking for a way to prevent Sonar from playing sounds whenever I add or drag notes in the piano roll.

Has anyone found a way (in X3e) to do that (aside from muting the track)?
