Closing Time

I was in a bit of a silly mood the other day after watching YouTube videos of bands playing various venues.  I thought of my more youthful band/clubbing experiences (when I could stay up late and still get up at a reasonable hour in the morning) and remembered that at closing time there were usually two styles of closing for bands.  Some had the romantic slow dance closing and some had the last-burst-of-flames-before-the-fire-goes-out type of closing.  I'm hoping this song leans more toward the latter.  The mix is probably not the best I have ever done (keep in mind that I never have been able to set the bar very high in this regard) but I was trying to get the feel that it was being recorded live.

Anyway, this one is just for fun.  I hope that you get a giggle out of it.  Thanks.

About same mix to me as the other song. Yep, don't get that way anymore, but know how it feels.
Well, done, but like the other song: Perhaps a bit lower end more needed.

This reminds me of the days when my band wrote songs specifically for breaks and closing times.  We must have perverted nearly every known song of the time.  Fortunately, you nailed this, and I'll be back next week with my bucket of PBR's.

    All the best,

Hi Spacealf!  I take it that you are familiar with the closing time scenario.  I tried playing this number in my car vs. computer and it did sound a bit on the high end.  I guess it does need some EQ on the low end.  Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Robbie.  I hate to admit how long ago that it was that I was in a closing time scenario.  Sounds like it has been a while for you also.  Do you miss it?  Thanks for listening and commenting!

Thanks Rik!!  I was going for that low tech mix and live action feel.  Although ---- Spacealf may have a point --- due to my lack of skills all my mixes tend to have that low tech sound  ;>)  When I do my silly type songs I always have fun.  Thanks again Rik.

Hi Lynn.  Sounds as if you certainly have the experience with this scenario!  Thanks for the kind words and feedback!  Here's to a bucket of PBR and see you next week (don't forget your designated driver lol).

You accomplished exactly what you set out to!  Sounded like a live band and I did get a chuckle out of it:)

Hi John and Scott!  My apologies for being so tardy in responding.  I have been undergoing a bunch of tests and preparations for a series of medical procedures that I will be undergoing.  So, time has been at  a premium.  Thanks for taking time to respond.  I appreciate your kind comments and feedback.  Thanks!

Yep, brings back memories! Sounds like a bar band ready to call it a night. I agree the low end could come up some.

Hi Monty. I'm glad that it brought back some memories and that you enjoyed it.  I'll definitely have to look at the low end and pump it up a bit.  Thanks

I guess I missed this.  Fun tune and the back story is battering the memories outta my brain.  Our break/closing song was Peter and the Wolf.  That woke people up.  The recording fits with the story.  I felt like I was standing watching the last "fast move Freddies" (kidding) making their move on the ladies.  I really enjoyed this, buddy.
