Starise at Cloudcast Puts In A Good Word For Sonar X3
I decided to make a Cloudcast with a few pointers in it for new users.I gave my take on a few things in it. I am looking into other opitons for launching a regular podcast. This is just getting my feet wet-tip of the iceberg so far. Soundcloud has an RSS option but I'm not sure I want to use it. I haven't really pushed any envelopes yet. This was kind of a learning experience for me. Kind of a similated radio show. I picked up on a few things I would have done differently. I didn't really make the 32 bit .vs 64 bit OS thing very clear. And instead of saying I usually record with my levels in the -6db range I said I "go in" at -6. Not everyone would know what I mean't. Lessons learned. Although basic I think it could help someone.....and I mentioned my favorite DAW. I am looking into options to have a phone conversation with good audio. I know a lot of folks use Skype. I have used it but never for something like this. https://soundcloud.com/st...st-march-8th-recording

Hmmm...well judging from the robust response Ive had to a potential podcast for fun, maybe I should reconsider.

The Cloudcast sounds like a good intro to stuff that you'll cover more in depth later on.

Does a Pod cast have anything to do with seeds or Line 6?

Thanks Old55 for checking it out. I know can do much better with a little more organization.Heck, I didn't even use an outline or a plan. Here's the thing though- To do it right you need to spend money which I would hope to recoup if I do this. I only want to recoup enough to cover my expenses. I'm not really sure how that would happen yet. There are engineers and musicians right here who would make excellent interviewees on the show .I don't ever see it running out of subject matter. Lots of subjects to cover in home recording with changes happening all the time. The other guys who make these podcasts all use PT or Logic. I would be the first podcaster to make a show and tout Cakewalk Sonar as a viable and effective way to get things done in the studio. Not that the other guys haven't mentioned Cakewalk products, but in their studios they don't use it. I understand that they have an investment in PT, especially if they bought big into the hardware versions of it. There are other alternatives and Cakewalk figures big into that. I don't think enough musicians know that yet. Circumstances are changing though. It's us home studio users who are now a large driving force behind what recording software and hardware companies do and in how they invest. If we speak loudly with our money, then we have the power to change the direction that things are going in.

Are you saying that you need to spend money to do the podcast itself or are you spending the money to your recording setup right and then it can be used for the podcast?

The money is for server fees. That's the only way to do it and assure a good product. I'm all set to make a podcast.

I posed only to Soundcloud Old55. Thanks for listening. That was a rough pilot show. If I want to take it into podcast land then I will need to invest in it.
