Is anyone available now? X3 upgrade, missing Studioverb2?

I just upgraded because I needed more effects beyond the limit set in Sonar LE... and because I was trying to get a mix done today... now I'm missing the Studioverb2 plugin, which I have used ubiquitously across all my tracks, even projects, and needed to add it to a couple of new tracks - the very reason I was upgrading... is there a way to restore this?

Yes, the older 32bit only DX plug-ins (except for DreamStation) were dropped from X3. Here is the list of X3 features http://www.cakewalk.com/p..cts/sonar/versions.aspx

Great. All was wanted was to be able to add a couple of more effects. I'm going to have to start my mix all over. I'm sure the upgrade will be a good thing in the long run, but it screwed me today. Good to know, thanks for the response.

Run the advanced install option from the previous version of SONAR to get the old plug-ins back. The old DX plug-ins should run in the 32bit version of X3.

I'm in the 64bit version, I'm running Windows 7 64bit, so I imagine my Sonar LE was 64bit as well, which is why I don't get why I lost the verb... unless I was running the 32bit Sonar LE, I'll look into that later.

SONAR LE is 32bit. If you want to run the old DX plug-ins, install the 32bit version of X3. It will run on 64bit SONAR.

It will benefit you in the long run to take some time to learn the new reverb effect of X3. However which version of X3 are you using? it is highly probable that Breverb, Sonitus reverb and Perfect space that comes with X3 Pro will sound better than the older studioverb.

I actually like some of the StudioVerb patches better than those newer verbs.

On tracks that really need it I export/import those tracks into 32bit Sonar and apply it, bounce, and export/import it back into 64bit Sonar.

Easiest way to export/import is to simply drag the track from one Sonar to the desktop, then drag it into the other Sonar.

I'm not sure LE comes in 64bit flavor.

Yup, agree with this. I'm not overly enamoured with the newer ones either - maybe it's me, but there seems to ba a harshness to them that I haven't yet figured out how to lose.

Aside from losing the plugin, I noticed that a couple of my mixes sounded different when I started a project in X2 Pro and moved it to x3 Pro. There were no apparent reasons for this except for what my ears were telling me. Also, a couple crashes too. So now I just complete the mixes in what I started them in. There is nothing worse than firing up the studio when you're charged with creativity only to switch gears to computer tech to figure out why things are not working. I bet we have all been there and it is not a good feeling.
