Which Electric Piano?
Do you have a favorite? I've been using NI's Electrick Piano but I'm finishing up re-installing everything, and I'm wondering what may be better? Like a nice Rhodes, or other electric plug?

Lounge Lizard Session 4 comes with X3 Pro. That is a Rhodes EP. At $5 USD this Kontakt sound is a no brainer for EPs: http://www.indiginus.com/images/EPScr.jpghttp://www.indiginus.com/5dollar.htmlThose are the two that I use. Also google/bing for the sounds you are looking for. FM8 is another good source for EPs and in fact you can install all of the DX7, TX81Z etc sounds into it. Good luck.
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. Yup - I don't have it, but I love the sound of the tubed rhodes! The best sounding EPs I own are the Scarbee ones included in Komplete. The NI Elektrik Piano ones are also excellent. With that said, if I could just *choose* which I could have, I'd pick the pianoteq modeled ones. The demo is included if you download the pianoteq main file to demo - and it's quite reasonably priced if you just want the 'baby' version of PTq.

I like NI's Scarbee Classic Keys. (Rhodes, Wurlli, Clav and Pianette) Also Hollow Sun's RMI and CP70. However what ever you use it will be greatly enhanced by Overloud's VKFX.

Lounge Lizard, though not my favorite, is probably the best bang for the buck. The alternative is individual Kontakt libraries, which will run up some serious cost if you want one of everything.

I don't think there is a bad suggestion in there. We all have our favourites and that will be a personal thing. For a sampled piano, I prefer something clean an then add my own effects and amp simulators, but the SampleTekk tubed stuff does sound very good. There is a demo of Lounge Lizard, so its easy to evaluate this one for your self. https://www.applied-acoustics.com/loungelizard/trial/ - Being modeled its not a huge download. I mentioned VKFX, you can get a demo here http://www.overloud.com/products/VKFX.php. I love this effects plug in when used with electric pianos, it really brings out the Dim Pro and Kontakt factory library e-pianos.

I have used Lounge Lizard and the EP in Addictive Keys. I have to say I use Addictive Keys more since I got it. A worthy mention has to go out to a couple of old freebies I used religiously for years. These would be Mr. Ray 73 and Mr. Ray 22! Mr. Ray 73 used with an auto panner completely NAILS the Max Middleton piano sound on Jeff Beck's BLOW BY BLOW album! Mr. Ray 22 has the built in effects. Sorry, to say that they are discontinued as far as development. They are only 32 bit. They also are donation ware so you get a nag screen for a few seconds unless you make a donation. They are well worth looking into. I will get the link for you in just a second.
Sonar Platinum, Sonar X3e, Sonar X2a , Sonar X1 Expanded and 8.5.3 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 10 on a Toshiba P75-A7200 Laptop with i7 @ 2.4 quad and 8 gigs of RAM and secondary WD 1 Tb drive, Windows 10 desktop, Asus i5 @ 3.2 quad, 12 gigs RAM, 1 Tb drive, 1 500 gig drive, MOTU 24io, 2 Roland Studio Captures, Saffire 6 USB for laptop, Soundtracs Topaz Project 8 mixer, Alesis Monitor 2s, Event BAS 20/20s, Roland Micro-Monitor BA-8s, and 45 years worth of collecting FX, Mics, Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards!

http://www.genuinesoundware.com/ Here is the link. There is also a very good Wurlitzer ep plugin named Mr. Tramp. The legacy freebies are at the bottom of the page. They all come in one zip file. There is also a not bad freebie of a B3, Organized Trio. I have used those plugs for years before I got to a point I could afford the pro stuff. At least give them a try. There is no malware or anything attached to them. I have run them safe for years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSf-dJyzCVE It will be hard not to get pumped after watching the above demo for Neo Soul Keys, combined with the VKFX - the VKFX is even available as a custom Sonar offering for the ProChannel in the Cakewalk store. Just to hear cool keys played it's worth watching the demo. But the narrator is certainly not bland.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Ah yes, the tune by Brewer & Shipley. I'll never forget my Dad singing that 'round the house in the 70's. I use to smirk to myself, wondering if he really new just what he was actually singing about. Off topic I know, but nostalgia got the better of me!

Another vote for Lounge Lizard. I haven't played all the candidates mentioned, but I don't know of any sampled E.P. that can give the smooth and expressive timbral response to velocity that this physical modeling synth does. I can always hear the velocity switching with sampled E.P.s and it bugs the heck out me. I generally prefer the expressiveness of a real "synthesizer" over a sampler even if the timbre is not a dead ringer for the original instrument or any real-world sound.
