Apparently you dont need an i-lok but using the i-lok manager to authorise the computer...

If you have to install the Pace driver, it's just as bad as having the dongle. I went through that once before - was it he Yellow Tools player? I forget. But it wreaked havoc on my machine until I got it completely uninstalled.

It just makes no sense at all to require any kind of authorization for a free plugin. If they want to harvest email addresses, force users to supply an email address and provide the download link via email.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Bit,

Second verify your experience from my experience.

No I-Lok dongle required but need I-Lok verification via Pace. Caused a mess here untill I rolled it back and got rid of the damnable destructive curse. Never even got the original "freeware" program to run. Just the collateral damage.

There are so many free and trusting, moral, unconstipated developers out there. We're in an era where about anything for thousands of dollars can be done for free. If it can't, there's something wrong with our inspirational ethic. Can't blame software any more for our creative or technology shortfalls.

As a conservative approach anymore, ask the devs what copyright protection they demand, up front and before shelling out the Yen.

If it's any more than a serial number or a key file, write them off. If the plug is to die for, make sure I have a warez crack in place first, but fewer are to die for any more.

Don't know what you may get, because I haven't read that far but it says I get another chance in the drawing for  that Lexicon hardware unit.

    Ol Pal,

Was awhile ago so forget a lot of specifics, but also had trouble with Yellow Tools.

Some other freebie needing Pace and the plugin would lock up the computer when it tried to launch, and some other operations slowed up. The plug itself was "unauthorized" and the 15 day grace period was expired even if it had just been installed. The Pace thing was doing it's thing that a new version needs to be installed to authorize the plug. Download the new version and it says it can't install because a newer version is already installed.

Brainless circles until I gave up.

More recently, bailed on UVI Mello because it is unauthorized on the computer but can't authorize from the site because it is already authorized.

I did get an email from UVI explaining that their new and improved piracy management jungle is not compatible with win XP, so until I upgrade to 7, there's nothing that can be done.

Good to hear that many have never had a problem with these piracy management schemes. My luck is that I'm the poster child for authorization failures and crude ripoffs from the likes of Waves and Voyetra.

Why I keep a crack for anything needing call response authorization, with very few exceptions (that's because there are a couple programs I can't find a crack for yet...). Don't use pirated software, pay for anything I use or don't use it. Just took a few steps to make life easier from this end.

Jimbo - thanks I used your code to get the free Primal Tap delay.

I have an iLok so it was a non issue for me regarding the install.

As usual, no problems at all with the iLok.

The delay installed smoothly. Works fine with Sonar X3 Producer. No crashes or issues.

I liked a couple settings right off the bat. Might only use it just for those settings, but nice to have for free.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I also used Jimbo's code. No problems.  Downloading now.  BTW, I had received the email from SoundToys, but had not begun searching for the secret codes as I don't do facebook or twitter.....  So thanks for sharing this code.  It worked.
