Where have my waveforms gone?

I was working on something earlier today and when I came back to it a short time ago 3 of my audio tracks are no longer showing waveforms. There is audio there, I can hear it and see it in my meters but no waveform at all, just two lines through the clip. I've tried zooming but nothing. I googled and found this http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X2&Lang=EN&Req=Troubleshooting.16.html#1159440 but I can't even see an option to recompute picture cache.

Anyone have any ideas?

After select the clips, try SHIFT-K then press the "Recompute Picture(s)" button

Thanks scook, that worked for 2 of them but doesn't seem to do anything for the third. When I double click the clip to open it in loop construction I can see there is a waveform there but I can't see it in the track view.

Close down the project. Delete all the files in the picture cache. Then reopen the project.

So delete everything in the Picture Cache folder in Cakewalk Projects?

Yes, this is the old school way of forcing projects to redraw the images. The Picture Cache should only contain files with the extensions WOV and WTR. The files are rebuilt as needed when projects are opened.

You should be on The Bakers payroll! I've often wondered what those files were for :-) Thanks again dude that fixed it!

Glad it is fixed it. It may be the cache was full. Now that the cache is empty, it should take some time to fill up again. If this happens often or fills up too fast, increase the PicCacheMB variable in Preferences > Audio > Configuration File. Periodically clearing the cache will avoid this problem.

Yeah now that I know I can delete stuff in there I'll probably just make a point of deleting every now and again.

Cheers
