Softsynth Not Playing Correct Patch/Sound

Hello Everyone,

I think this has been a long running issue, but not sure.   I load up a softsynth, choose a preset, hit play... everything sounds great!

Then I stop the track and play it again.  This time the synth has reset to the default sound!!!

Is there anything I can do?

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thank You,
Adam

"Zero controllers on stop" -feature should not do that, AFAIK, and I don't know if that feature exists in X-series, but maybe worth looking at (?).

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

This often has more to do with what's in the MIDI track than it does the synth.  There is usually a patch change command embedded in there somewhere at the beginning of the track. Change or delete that, then save your changes as a cakewalk project and it should be fine.

I concur that this usually happens when a patch change is embedded in the midi data for the track.

In the Track Inspector Pane, there is also a parameter there where you can set the midi track to start with whatever patch you want, using the Patch Browser button OR using the drop down arrow for the Patch parameter, OR you can directly enter a number into the Patch parameter, by double-clicking on the word Patch.

So, a small number of ways to set this that can be easily checked.

Hope that helps,
