Melodyne Editor upgrade - old blob positions

Hi y'all,

Quick Q on Melodyne. I upgraded and got it authorised.

Is there a way of seeing where the original blob positions were, in the same way as you can with V-Vocal?

It would be helpful.

Many thanks
M

When you first open it and capture the audio..... you will see where the original blobs are. That's the way it displays.

After you run the auto correct (which I advise against) the blobs will be in different positions from that point forward.

A really good idea is to clone that original track for safe keeping.... that way, if, after working on it with ME, you don't like it and have saved it.... you can always go back to the original untouched track.

I advise working manually in your corrections as opposed to allowing ME to do that for you automatically.  ME takes it's "best guess" and some of those guesses are wrong.  It takes a bit longer to work a track manually but it's well worth the time invested.

You have a valuable tool. I couldn't work without it.

You can also right click on a blob to undo any pitch changes. Or any other changes for that matter.

click bypass in melodyne (little "road going around a block" thing in the upper left corner of the melodyne window).  All the blobs are shown in grey in their original positions.

Nice! The Compare button is close to what I would want ideally.

One other thing guys - when I copy a corrected Melodyne clip it only seems to copy the original not the corrected version. Is this a known bug?

    Cheers

Yup, I believe that's a known issue.  Hopefully it'll be fixed for X3e!

It used to work in X3b or c, I'm sure I did it before.
