Cyan Ghetto Bass

Hi Guys,
 
This is a bit out of the ordinary and out of protocol, but you should check this into this if you're a guitar player.
Cyan Ghetto Bass. Abandoned beta that can't save presets, and a pan controls for one channel is broken. Frustrating bugs.
 
Masterpiece with all the flaws, forgotten in time and will maybe never be fixed.
 
Respected developer Ken McLaren from Acmebargig gave permission to post a link to the vst, requesting only to abide by the disclaimers on the download page. Link will stay active for 30 days.

Short end of the story. This is an elegant octave generator with the foresight to incorporate modulation of the up and down octave to remotely simulate real world response of an actual 12 string electric. Brilliant, and no other device is on the market free or commercial can get close to do what this thing does.
 
Frustrating having to build presets each time from scratch, but this busted vst beta is out there ahead of the front line.

    Bumping this again, but anticipate no response, because there is likely no response anyone can possibly offer in the way of forward progress/education. . (If it's a factor, got almost as much hair left as Bapu...)...
     
    Hidden agenda by me was to see if anyone has the knowledge of an alternative. There is nothing out there in existence that can rival this broken beta. Sad state of the art, so let this thread be dead..(did I just get a rhyme for a new song...).
     
    The Cyan beta is crippled with fuk ups as fast as it can recede into oblivion. Mega bummer for those of us wanting to translate a six string into a twelve string on steroids.
     
    Traditional octave generators are plagued with time dependent artifacts, as is Cyan, but this plug allows elegant modulation of the two octave paths. Modulation options in the processed paths result is a credible wow and flutter presentation of a real 12 string as the two strings on a note bounce off each other for pseudo realism.
     
    Anyone who has a knowledge of a better alternative than this, free, megabux paid, doesn't matter. Please inform.
     
    Otherwise, off to the bottom of the bird cage here and will try the Gearslutz guys to pick their brains. Will report back if they have a viable alternative.

    Report back FWIW.
     
    A good friend, GearSlutz freak and walking encyclopedia of anything vst/vsti advised that there isn't anything commercial or otherwise that does what Cyan does out of the box so I can stop the search. He set up a modular thing inside Bidule and solved the pan issue running two Cyans left and right. I was able to do the same thing using Energy XT since don't have Bidule. One problem solved and easy on CPU. Will post the XT project file if anyone wants to play with it.
     
    His thought was that PSP N20 would be the best candidate to create a similar sound as a single unit (with a lot of work).
     
    Was wondering if a vst midi controller before Cyan could force settings on startup since Cyan will not save settings on exit?
     
    Similar note, took the advice of you guys and the shiny new Korg NanoKontrol just arrived. Looking forward to putting some external knobs on the vst's.

    This is killer and the best plug in its class, not even a second contender, once you have opened the file and done some adjustments from the defective default. Bummer is you can’t save the fine print after getting 12 string Nirvana.
     
    Like the GearSlutz guru said, there is nothing out there currently that does this, so quit bugging you Sonar guys to find something that doesn’t exist. Bummer, since the concept is so simple. Thought that someone could have carried the torch forward by now. Maybe next year.
     
    Check it out anyway. Damnable broken plug, but state of the art where no octave device done gone before.
     
    Advised as well that I shot myself in the foot ages ago as an Acmebargig fanboy, so response is blacklisted. Interesting concept, but likely true. Definitely a fanboy, so out of the closet!!
     
    Nobody is looking, so check it out.
