Meter glitch?

Running Sonar X3d, each time I attempt to change the tempo, at the fourth measure and periodically thereafter it reverts back to the original 'default' tempo. I have to initially go through the entire area allowed for a new project and adjust the tempo in 30 + places. This has been going on for some time and it is beginning to get a bit frustrating as many times I don't know how long a piece will be until it is played and then it is done with multi tempo changes that must be fixed each time. Can anybody tell me what I have done and how I may correct this??
I use some templates that I have created and new projects as well and the same thing happens in both. It must be a setting somewhere that I have overlooked. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at the tempo view to see what's happening with the tempo? You can just override the tempo changes there if needed.

Although meter is a musical term in the context of this forum I would use the term tempo. Reserve meter for the meters showing levels.
