Studio Monitors

Wondering if anyone else has had problems with the Power/Volume "pot" on the Alesis M1 Active 320 monitor set. I bought them new at GC about 2 years ago---they went back to the factory inside the warranty period(1year), they installed a new "pot" at that time---now the thing is "scratchy" again. Think I'll change it myself and put a heavy duty unit. Any ideas? Thanks----Keith

Have you tried cleaning the pot?  I would do that as a first step.  Get some De Oxit "Fader Lube" volume control cleaner (NOT contact cleaner) and spray the pot and work it back and forth several times.  You will have to open the unit to get to the rear of the pot (assuming its not a closed pot).
