Music Creator 5 on Windows 8?

I just got a new windows 8 machine.

I have Cakewalk 5.  I'd like to install it on the windows 8 machine.  then maybe upgrade to the 5.05 version I see pinned here.

should that work?

thanks

I am using MC3 with a PreSonus Inspire external firewire audio interface. My computer is a Compaq AMD 64 Athlon 2.2 GHz w/ 448 MB of memory.

you can try, but there's no guarantee.  MC5 was released long before Windows 8.

I just picked up a copy of Music Creator 6 touch as an upgrade for $ 9.99 at the Cakewalk store
to put on my Win 8 computer ..

I liked the MC 6 for XP so much I said why not ….
right now with out an upgrade price it would still only cost $ 19.99….

    imho , new W 8 computer …why mess around.

    Wow..... with prices that low...it's a no-brainer....

But when I see prices that low it makes me wonder if Cake isn't planning to end the MC line.
