How to Sample and Make SFZ soundfont files for Sonar X1?

1. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.
2. Sonar X1 Producer 64-bit
3. Zoom Handy Recorder H2
4. Audacity 2.0.5
5. Polyphone 1.3
6. SFZ.exe made on October 5, 2004

A. I would like to use the Zoom H2 to record samples of instruments, which can then be imported as SFZ files into Sonar X1.
B. I can capture sounds and save WAV files with both Sonar X1 and Audacity.
C. When I use Polyphone to make a SF2 or a SFZ file, SFZ.exe errors out with 'not enough memory' (this on a 652Kb, SF2 file), or does nothing at all.  I have successfully used SFZ.exe to take a old, existing SF2 file and convert it into an SFZ file.  But if SFZ.exe won't handle the SF2 of SFZ file, then neither will Sonar X1.

Is anybody making a SF2 or SFZ file creator/editor that will take WAV files and form a SFZ file for import into Sonar X1?  I would prefer a public domain program or a shareware program.

Thank you, Stephen Stubbs.

    dedicated sfz editors
http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html (the only one I have recently played with) or http://carrieres.free.fr/sfz.htm
I use the same text editor I have used for decades which is not sfz specific, EMACS.

I do not use the sfz plug-in. I would use one of the other Cakewalk sfz engine synths either Dimension Pro or Rapture. Other free sfz players are http://www.plogue.com/products/sforzando/ and http://www.tx16wx.com/
