ATH-M50x

Just thought it was worth mentioning that the much-loved ATH-M50s now come with detachable cables. A welcome improvement. New model number is ATH-M50x. Unfortunately, the price has also gone up slightly - Sweetwater lists them for $169.

Now if they could just figure out how to keep the ear cushions from disintegrating...

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Cool. I can't tell you how many times I've run over the cord on mine with my computer chair. It will be nice to have the ability to change the cord....the only thing I question is...did they make the cord so that only their cord fits?

I changed to the ATH-AD300's a couple of years ago and the cushions seem a lot harder wearing.

I've had my M50s for 4 years and the pads are still fine.  In fact they look pretty robust.

What's the rejection like with the M50's?
Are they good for vocal and acoustic guitar tracking?

    Thanks,
