Midi controller foot pedal not tracking fast enough

A few months back I picked up an 88 key piano synth/controller and use it mainly when I need to play a piano part because it has 88 keys. It uses a usb connection into my computer and I had been using one of those small square foot pedals to control the sustain. I have better pedals but the cords were all too short....long story short....the foot pedal seems to be messing with my midi sustain tracking. If you listen to the first part of this mix you can hear the problem as a note or two are out of timing. I know when I played it it was in time. https://soundcloud.com/starise/he-is-here

I'm wondering if anyone else had had issues with the privia line and those pedals. It seems lethargic at times.Only by a small amount but sometimes enough to throw off a piano part.
