Next Sonar problem, Track has gone out of time

Okay, so I've Just started to record a track, following a metronome click track in the background, and a simple piano part. On playback, after a few bars, the timing goes awry, ie the pino is no longer in synch and there is a tiny but audible interruption in the signal. Any ideas what has ( for no apparent reason, as usual) happened?

Most likely something to do with your USB soundcard microphone. They are problematic.
Have you selected only the Samson to be used with SONAR, not the mobo soundchip?

There's a sticky about setting up the USB mics on this forum.

SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre  -  Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc.

I have a problem with tracks duplicating. When recording track 2 it adds track 1,then when recording track 3 it copies tracks 1 & 2 onto track 3.However,if I mute a track,eg track 1, it doesn't add it to the new track, which is a bit of a pain when track 1 is usually the drums! Any ideas as to why this is happening?

    Welcome to the forum!
You are propably using an integrated soundchip and you have "Stereo mix" or "What U hear" setting on.
It's good to add your gear and software specs in the signature footer, so you don't need to explain them every time you ask something.

BTW: You get better and faster answers if you start a thread of your own for your questions. Say, the title of this thread is "Track is out of time", and your question has nothing to do with that.
