Thank you, Panu!
I want to give a big hand to Panu, the man who gave us Duckbar, for putting solo and reset buttons in the quadcurve EQ flyout window. This is a nice time saver for me and has answered a feature request that I made to CW a few weeks ago. Talk about quick action! You get a standing ovation from me.

It can be if you want it to be. Panu provides a very valuable service. Duckbar is a significant enhancement to the SONAR X series.

So cool. Very grateful as always, but I so admire how you constantly make everything better. Thanks! P.S. I use 8.1 and this the 1st update in months I was able to install without some emphatic warning messages from Windows. It never stopped me though.

I believe Panu's been doing these mods since 8.5 (if memory serves me right) and I do agree that it has inspired my recording experience. Duckbar has just taken it to a different level. I say we pin a metal medal on him and buy him a round of beers. Thanks Panu!!!

I agree that Panu should be commended for his efforts to help his fellow Sonar users and the solo button in particular was a glaring omission from the otherwise excellent flyout eq........................yep, here comes the but.......... For me it at least, it doesn't work properly. In console view, if I open the PC / flyout Eq, which is where I always do this stuff, pressing Panus solo button solos the highlighted (focus) track in track view, not the track of the EQ I am currently looking at, so I have to go back and shift the focus to the track I am trying to eq, it's no quicker than having to press the track solo button. I know absolutely nothing about how Panu works his magic, but if I'm looking at the eq for the bass track and I press the eq solo button, to my way of thinking it should be reasonably obvious that I want to hear the bass track in isolation, not the last track that I was looking at earlier in TV. Or maybe I'm missing something ? (quite possible!)

I agree with the above. Although Panus efforts are highly commendable they hinder my work flow. I find it too old skool and doesnt improve on whats already there already..

I believe this is a Sonar thing about the track in focus being what's available. I work solely in Track View, and it's the same there. The rules for which track has focus has changed from a version or two ago. But, how can Panu's improvements hinder your workflow if you simply don't use them? That being said, I still love his color schemes.

I don't know about that Lynn. All I know is that if I open any other fx (CW or 3rd party) in the fx bin and press the solo button it will solo the track that the plug-in relates to, as you would expect regardless of which track is in focus in TV. Insert the sonitus eq into the pro-channel on a given track and it solos that track regardless of the "focus" track. Panu's button in the quad curve eq is the only one I have tried so far that doesn't seem to do this. I'm not saying Panu has messed up, maybe because of something in the QC eq, there is no other way of having the solo button and maybe that is why it was omitted in the first place, but compared to every other plug in solo button, it doesn't work properly.

I would like to add my grateful voice to this thread. Panu, your great work and cheerful attitude are much admired and appreciated here. I also love your "Dark Side" mod and the choice of fader caps, etc. (I would try to do more with Duckbar, but I'm not sure of exactly how to apply some elements of it. I'm afraid I'd mess something up if I experimented with it too much, and not be savvy enough to get myself back to where I was before my self-inflicted problem.) Anyway, Panu, thank you so much for all your good work :) LJ

You're absolutely correct. That's why I sent in a feature request to CW for this. As you know, ProChannel doesn't behave like a VST plug-in at all. There's no solo or mute button on any of the ProChannel modules, and they would be a welcome addition for me. But, I don't blame Panu for this oversight.
