How to dont stop AudioEngine [PROBLEM]

I have problem with Dune VSTi. I know it is dune problem, but not only for Dune. I use SonarX2 Studio.

If i use FAT mode in Dune i hear louder sound and little different in character of sound, after few notes is everything ok. It is hear always i hit play button on sonar and Dune start play midi notes, or stop and start play on Dune. It is hear if i render audio!

In Notion program, it is possible hear this louder sound in Dune with first play notes. But only once. After stop and play again, the unwanted effect is gone. That looks like, Sonar make AudioEngine stop or reset always i play/stop.

I was look for configuration file under Audio section in preferences. I found this "MinimizeDriverStateChanges" () but after play with this, i dont hear any changes. AudioEngine stop however.

Is there solution make AudioEngine working always? Or any other way how to work Dune VSTi normaly with FAT mode?

It seems like maybe you got your Dune an Notion reference reversed wiht regard to which one is working as desired...? In any case, X3 introduced an option called Always Stream Auido Through Effects (replacing Play Effects Tails) that allows FX to behave as though still processing audio when the transport is stopped. this feature is not available in X2. This might address the issue if you upgrade, but...

I think it's more likely that the setting of Zero Controllers When Play Stops under Preferences > Project > MIDI is causing the FAT mode to get turned off by whatever controller is mapped to it by default. Try unchecking that option, and see if it makes a difference. If it does, an alternative (if you don't want to disable Zero Controllers for everything) is to add the necessary Continuous Controller Event at the beginning of the track so that the Controller Searchback function will re-enable FAT mode when playback starts.

Thanks for reply. The Always Stream Auido Through Effects is looks like what i need. I am curious if there is another way, how to change audioEngine not stop in X2. But this feature is in X2 under Play Effects Tails, it looks like they change only name for the effect. Maybe i am wrong. And it working only for FX not for VSTi, or yes?

I was try turn off Zero Controllers When Play Stops but not effect. It is not problem for midi. It is problem with Dune and Sonars audioEngine. The problem in sound with Dune is like all oscilator in FAT mode get for small time, same oscilator phase. Btw. if you dont know Dune, FAT mode make for one Osc a 7 voices in unison. And this phase make strange sounding Dune. The change Sonar audioEngine solve my problem. And i write this problem to Dune forum, and other people dont have problem with this, because they dont use Sonar.

So if I understand correctly, it's the "reset" of soft synth output that SONAR does on stopping the transport that's causing the problem. I just checked this in X3, and while input-monitored audio from external sources will continue sounding on stop, output from a soft synth being played by live MIDI input (i.e. holding keys down on a controller as the transport is stopped) will be silenced. I think this soft synth reset is a unrelated to the actual audio engine, and this could be peculiar to SONAR. And it's not affected by the Always Stream Audio setting, which is aimed at FX not synths.

I tried some different settings, and couldn't prevent it from happening, so it's probably going to take a feature request for an option to disable the synth reset.

Maybe you are right. I wasn't thinking for that possibility. I try many settings on / off what heppens, and it looks like, Dune is in own dimension. Or Sonar take Dune in different way, because some tested VSTi i did, all play internal effects after stop. For example if i have synth with reverb, the reverb is playing after stop. But Dune not play reverb after stop. But in Notion is everything ok. Dune play effects after stop play. I was check Vsti properties and all suspend on stop or play options is turned off for Dune. Everything looks ok.
