That of course implies one of two things. 1. It's within the 30 day time span of the Trial MP3 encoder that comes with Sonar 2. If it's longer than 30 days since you installed Sonar then the trial will have expired in which case you either need to install a free one called Lame from the internet or spend $20 at the Cakewalk store to have it permanently unlocked for not only this version of Sonar but any subsequent ones. If you're running Snar 64 bit make sure you get the 64 bit version if using the Cakewalk store.

It does still carry a $20 list price but has been on sale for months.

If you don't want to pay for the license, there are a ton of .wav to .mp3 converters available on the web. But honestly for $10 bucks, I'd just unlock the license, it's a pretty reasonable fee.

If it were me, I'd export to a wav first, make sure this sounds ok and THEN convert the wav to mp3

I have just bought the mp3 unlocker yesterday. Used to use Sound Forge to do this, bur sometimes it saves me time to export directly to mp3 from within sonar. And for $9.99, common...

I'm with Jonesey and djoni on this one..... I like to export the wave, give a listen, and then convert the wave file to MP3 (I usually use SoundForge). FWIW......for $10 the direct export might be handy but I like my process and will probably stick with it.
