Mixing Tips
Hello, I've been banging my head against the wall trying to mix the kick and bass on most of my songs....I'm trying to get the right mix on the two. The sound I'm looking for is a nice full bottom. My genre of music is Jazz. If I could get the kick and the bass close to the sound on the attached Paul Hardcastle song "Inner Changes" I would be happy.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-FqGz_jdkM Any frequency setting/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Now ....I'm getting a headache....
When attempting to upload songs into Soundcloud.....they won't go....
I had them at 24 bit ....so I tried 16bit....and all I get is :09 seconds of the song.....??

Yeah ...something is wrong....I uploaded at 16 bit...and I get the
"error processing track" message....??

Does not look like that soundclick is for "uploading" music.....
I've put a request in to Soundcloud to see if they can fix the "error".....

The kick in the Paul Harrdcastle track sounds like it is either a) HUGE like a 26 or larger, or B) an 808 kick or possiblly just 808 enhanced.
Are you working with good monitors and a nice sub? If not, making those decisions on those frequencies is gonna be a PITA.

I use sound click and sound cloud as well as BOX for my tunes..... depends on the mood I'm in when I get ready to upload it.
Yes..... once you get the whole how to upload thing worked out..... post the song link in the songs forum and state exactly what you're looking for in the form of feed back....
If it's for listening pleasure say so, if you want mix crits, try to detail what you think might be going on or what you're looking to accomplish. People will come back with good advice for you in most cases.

soundclick has terrible sounding streaming.
i think it is at about 128kbps, which is terrible in my book.

For whatever reason, Soundcloud is now uploading the songs. I even tried to upload the songs off of a cd...and no luck.... I used it a year or so ago and it worked fine....I have a ticket into them (I wish there was a number I could call).....so I guess I just have to wait for them to reply ......

I was able to "finally" upload a couple songs into SoundCloud.....!!!
It appears that it won't take "WMA" files.....?? I was able to upload the songs using the "WAVE" format....
Anyhow I copied this post into the "Songs" forum.....
