IK Multimedia plugin weirdness
Hello Guys: Today, I opened a project and any Ik Multimedia plugin involved in failed to load correctly. I reset all the plugins and re-scanned. As I scanned I got the message that the IK plugins had failed the "main call". I then uninstalled them and reinstalled them, reset and scanned again. Same message. Then I tried a system restore, but they still failed. Again, it's only IK Multimedia plugins. I'm trying here first rather than IK because you guys are generally quicker, and more helpful. Any thoughts?

I think you need to run Sonar as administrator.

Hello Jlien X, First, thank you for your reply. I am running Sonar as administrator, and strangely, this has only affected IK plugins.

Hi Guys Thanks for your replies. Since it's only IK plugins I'm thinking it maybe a weirdness in the authorizations too Sanderxpander. I put a ticket in at IK support. When I get it worked out I'll post here in case anybody else has this problem. Again, thanks to all.

No- you need to run IK multimedia plugins as administrator. I do not remember how I did it- I think you right click on .dll file and go to the Options/run as administrator, or something of that nature. I had the same problem- I called IK and they told me to do that- it fixed it.

Yes, the IK plug-ins themselves need to be run as administrator. Don't just click "Run as Administrator" in the pop-up. You need to right click the .exe, select Properties>Compatibility. Place a check mark int the Privilege Level box. You should be good to go after that. I have only had to do this with my IK plug-ins(so far). It was a lot more effective than the colorful verbage floating around my room 'til I figured it out .

My IK plugs kept crashing X2. When I upgrade to X3 all problems seems to disappear overnight. May I ask which version of Sonar you are using?

Hello All: I heard from IK today and they said to uninstall all IK plugins and then reinstall them as administrator. I did and that solved the problem. What's strange is the problem didn't happen with X2, but only after I installed X3. Weird. In a way, Musichoo, my problem was the opposite of yours: X2 was fine X3 was where the problem was. Thanks to everyone who responded!!!
