I've been wanting to pick this up, but pay day is not until the 15th.  Any idea how long this sale will last, I didn't see it on quick glance at the site.

It seems like this has been going on sale for the past few months, so you might be able to catch it later. (The last one I saw, I think MF had it for $19....or summin like that).

It's on sale quite regularly indeed. And I say go for it whenever you can!!

I've recently started using it in projects instead of EZ and SD and, though I still have to get used to its ergonomics, sonically, it works better for me - the sound isn't nearly as pre-mixed and pre-masterized and scooped, which seems to make it a whole lot easier for me to work with.

The Evil Joe Barresi and the Rock Legend eco-kits from Platinum Samples seem to cover most of my needs for acoustic drums.

EZ is an incredible songwriting tool but I'm hoping to upgrade to BFD 3 whenever I can.

Yeah, BFD 3 is what I'm aiming for too, but it'd have to be a really good deal........it's a shame and very unusual that there isn't an upgrade path from ECO.

You should probably contact the JRshop makeshift, depending on when this went on sale
(if I know CClary that's tomorrow) then I think they're usually about a week so you might okay for the 15th.

For those who like to build there own drum tracks from scratch as I do there's a video just been posted on the fx facebook page that's probably about 5 minutes too long but interesting nonetheless.

Building kits and beats in BFD3

He does a couple of things that are wrong and it's not always easy to see clearly on my monitor as the resolution is too low but the end result is great. It demonstrates a few of the features and things you can do in the drum editor that AFAIK other drum editors don't do, especially the rudiments tool which gives you lots of rolls and paradiddles.

Don't forget if you take up this deal that you have to pay $50 for a transfer of the licence.

Edit, I just read in his add that the $50 fee is included so that's a very good deal.

The MAJOR advantage to buying it this way is...

You get ECO and it's kits, BFD2 and it's kits, and then BFD3 and it's kits....

If you just by BFD3 you only get the included kits....so you end up better off
this way...and you get to use whichever one you want for the job...

FYI - I just noticed that fxpansion does have an eco -> bfd 3 upgrade.  It's $314 USD

Looks like I'm the one that got this deal!   Thanks Larry!

We agreed on $130 since I already had Eco for about a month now - also thanks to Larry!
[That way he could keep Eco or himself or for sale later on.]

Yup - money sent - transfer fee paid email received.

    Thanks again Larry.

Now if only there was a way to find out when the BFD 3 sale comes along...

    A letter in the mail...
A sign post on the street corner...
A billboard on the side of the highway...

...perhaps some other form of notification...

...maybe on some type of user based forum somewhere...

Hmm......nothing comes to mind at the moment...

Gee...if only I knew of such a thing, place, method or way...oh well!
