Noob question about Loops/One shots

Hi all I recently got a pack of samples that contains a bunch of wav loops and one shots
i'm pretty new and not really sure how to use them.
i downloaded both tx16wx and shortcircuit 1.1.2
the tx16wx i immediately started dragging and dropping so out of the gate that one seems more intuitive

question with either of these or both:  if i take my sample pack and map a hit or loop to every key on my controller - do all of these samples then get copied into a TX16wx specific folder?  what i mean is - will i then be duplicating these audio files?  to me this is a great way to be "one and done" with my samples so that i could just load up "sample bank X" and it will have that whole list ready to play immediately.  with my current rig however that duplication wouldn't really be an option (HD space is too precious)

.sfz.....is this essentially what i'm suggesting above?  that i have a bunch of samples mapped out to my keys but no audio needs to be re-saved elsewhere?  it's just a text file with instructions.

loops - why is it that with both dropzone and tx16wx i can only get these loops to cycle twice?
i thought the idea of a loop is that it is endless and i can hold that "note" for as long as i desire?

how do i really use a .wav loop of a drum beat?  i would obviously have to get the beat to match my current project - is that somehow possible with a regular .wav or does this need to be stretched/compressed with software?
is this where rex2 files come into play?  a rex2 is essentially a converted .wav file that can sync to the beat of a given project?  and to create these it would be as simple as using Recycle?  is this the common process of using these type of files?

thanks for reading my long and overwhelming confusion :)

I am going to answer one of the question because damn you had a lot of them in this one paragraph. You can have a wave follow the tempo in a song by making it a groove clip. You can do this by selecting the wave and right clicking this will bring up a large menu. Select groove clip. Then your wave will be in sync with the tempo.

As above you can turn a wave file into an acidized sound file (groove clip) as above.  The corner edges will then be blunt, and you can roll your drum loop out as many iterations as you need.  It will stay in pitch if you change the tempo, or you can change the pitch and keep the tempo, which is great for bass lines and rhythm stuff.  Wave files, of course will change pitch w/ tempo and visa versa.

And SFZ file is a text file that organizes wave and other sound files for synthesizers and  soft samplers.  It does the mapping, so your middle C sample goes there and is "stretched" above and below the note to the next sample split, and other sampler functions.  It can produce envelopes and LFOs etc. in addition to those in the sampler/synth that is using the SFZ instructions. The SFZ file usually is included in the folder w/ the sounds.  Besides the Cake synths, Alchemy and NI Kontakt use SFZ.  See PatchArena.com for a good reference source.

Recycle REX files are different again.  I'll let someone else take a stab.

And I don't know nothing about TX16 W - ain't it the new kid on the block, sampler-wise?  So I'll let someone else take that one.  But if it works with sfz, it should map and effect the sample(s) for you, so you could have a nice tempered scale of a keyboard, a cello mapped to the appropriate notes, or different drums samples spread across the keyboard in the standard drum template so you can play them via midi, or different loops.

That's the great thing about modern music tools - there is Shakespeare monkey's number of tools to play with.
