Who's Gonna Stop The Rain Now

Recorded this with X1 ,brought it into X3 and did a little more tweaking. Would love some feedback. I wrote the song back when we were ( The U.S.) trying to convince Israel that we have their back and Obama was drawing the hypothetical lines, hence the line in the song about the lines your drawing. I am not wanting to get into a political discussion just a little bit of a backstory for the lyric.

Clear mix.  Has a live feel (maybe it's the pics on your RN page) but it is so nice and clear!  Great lyrics and performances.  As far as the meaning of the tune; Nobody is gonna stop anything at this point in time.  Too busy worrying about getting people elected.  I agree with not getting into a political discussion so that's my one liner.  Your music i excellent, Monty!

Thank you sir, I have struggled along trying to learn this stuff just like everybody else so encouraging words from my peers mean a lot to me!

Loved it.  It does have a "live feel" about it.

There's sure enough plenty of grist for songwriters in this world these days to write "protest" and "social issues" kinds of songs.... great job and thanks for the background since that helps to understand the song.

I thought the same, I was thinking CCR cover. I'm actually glad it wasn't. Teego, I'm going to admit that I have never been much of a Country Music fan, but I really liked this song. I agree with what others have said, it has a live feel to recording. For me that adds greatly to the song and makes it more personable. Good song.

Monty, Nice clean and clear sound instrumentally and vocally. I'm not political because it is Gods' planet and He will have done what He wants done and the politicians are His tools for getting it done. What matters is if we are ready for the finale. Great work on your song.

Thank you! @olemon   So. you would classify this as Americana? I am always at a loss when someone asks me about genre, I just always say Country. I guess I should study on iy some so I can tell the difference!

Yeah, I think so, although the genres do blur.  It's a folk/country blend.  That's where my songs fall much of the time.  I used to tell people I played 'feel good' music, even wrote one called 'A Feel Good Song'.

I think the reason there are so many comments on this song is because it's so listenable. You have captured a sentiment that everyone can relate to. You've captured it with understanding, a feel for the subject matter, and a passion that comes through in the delivery... It's what all songwriters aspire to, nicely done.

@gtrpastor Thanks for the nice comments. The best I can remember since I did this a while back, was I used a cheap
Washburn guitar (I think they sold for about 175.00) and stuck a Cad E100 mic in front of it and just moved it around until it sounded like I wanted and did a bit of eq-ing. That guitar has a great sound when recorded. I have a 1500.00 Tacoma and I use the Washburn more often.

@ markno999 Thank you also. I have listened to your work and kind words like that coming from you go a long ways to boosting my confidence level. Thanks for commenting!

    Hi Monty ,
every song of yours that I have listened to has been exceptional on a lot of fronts...
you do a lot of things really well
on this song I dug your voice ,
its sounds like I'm listening to a Pro ….easy to listen to , very relaxed , genuine and organic ...
your guitar sounds very good , I had a Washburn and I had the same experience you did ..it recorded great ..
Yeah , everything in your song sounds like it belongs where it is …great job
