(Solved) Rapture Synth Expansion Pack 1 Multisample Not Found

I was looking for a synth bass sound and was browsing through Rapture's patches in Expansion Patch 1 and tried to load the BT Pulsed Bass patch when I got a pop up saying "Multisample Not Found". The sample in question is BT Bassdrum 041 but there are a few others that seem to be missing too.

I tried googling the problem and I found a thread pertaining to a similar problem with Rapture LE.

I found a folder on my E Drive which has a path with Cakwalk\Insts\Rapture\Rapture_Free_Expansion etc which has the offending missing samples. I'm just not sure how to go about getting them in the correct place.

Can anyone offer some advise please?

Ok, since I've had no responses to this post or the one in Instruments I tried to fix this myself by copying the expansion pack folders into C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples\ but I still have the same problem. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

I am not sure why the Expansion Pack did not install correctly.

Most DimPro and Rapture expansion packs have two parts: mulitsamples and programs.

For 64bit installations the default multisample location for Rapture is located in "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples". The programs are always located in "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs". Note ProgramData is a hidden folder.

To perform a manual installation, copy the multisample folders into where ever the other multisamples folders are located and copy the program folders into "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs". Once everything is copied to the proper locations, refresh the program list by launching Rapture, then opening the Rapture Program Browser and pressing the F5 key.

Hey scook, thanks for the reply. Okay so what I did so far was copy the full expansion pack folder into C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples\ which is obviously wrong. When I open the Exp Pack folder there is a Data Folder and the installer. When I open the Data Folder, there are 2 folders, App and Common. Common then has a Program Folder while App has a Multisamples Folder. Should I copy the contents of that folder into C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Rapture\Multisamples\?

Sorry to be so vague but this stuff screws with my mind :-)

Clean up everything you done so far.

The Expansion pack is installed by unzipping the Expansion pack into a temporary location and running the RaptureExpansionInstall.exe.

The manual process would be to copy the contents of ...Data\App\Multisamples\ into your existing multisample directory. And copy the contents of ...Data\Common\Programs into "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture\Programs". The refresh the Rapture program browser with the F5 key.

scook to the rescue again. Thanks man, that did the trick. One of these days I'll get my head around file paths and what I can put in them.

Cheers

Rapture picks it's own paths during installation and doesn't give us any choice. That s why scook mentioned the default paths because the Cakewalk synths all have there default paths for Programs and Multisamples and it takes a registry edit to move the Multisamples somewhere else.

Without creating special file links it doesn't seem at all possible to move Program files.
