Midi problems [SOLVED]

Back for more...Although this isn't about Sonar directly, so if this needs to be moved...go ahead put it where it will get answers...I need some help..thanks

I am experiencing something very odd concerning my midi work. I use a Korg 01/W and as of late when I do midi work my drums are not working properly. (I never use the Korg on board sequencer - I always use a DAW)

The drum parts seem to play whatever sound they feel like whether they are soloed or played all together...If I solo a snare drum it doesn't always play a snare sound...sometimes it sounds like a kick or a clave or some other drum sound or skips playing at all. The parts never sound like any other instrument but the sounds change and are always different drum sounds. Each time I start over those variables change...it's never the same mess up twice in a row...and occasionally they just play fine for maybe one pass or so...but not often.
All my midi channels seem to work fine except the drum parts, and I've been sequencing for over 20 years almost daily and this is a first.
So...I have 2 computers (with 2 sets of midi cables so I know those aren't the issue)...one with Pro Tools and Reason the other with Sonar X2 Producer and Cakewalk Music Creator, and this problem persists in all 4 programs over 2 independent computers so I don't think it's a software issue...Plus the meters play in all the programs except in reason. (There is midi info in the reason event window as is with all other programs but they don't get to the mixer) That in itself is a bit weird...Anyway...I evidently am having major issues. And yes I've restarted my computers but the issue persists.

1. Does anyone really understand why this can be happening, and why only the drum parts are having this issue.
2. Can this be a keyboard issue...and if so, why just the drums? I haven't done anything glbally except turn of the local (on/off) to off.
I really appreciate any insight on this

I'm not familiar with your keyboard but I had a quick look through the manual.

Could it be that you have sequence or pattern data in your synth which is triggering random notes?

Do you use your synth in combi or sequencer mode when it is connected to Sonar?

SONAR Platypus on Win10 64bit.

Thanks everyone who looked at this and scratched their heads....I appreciate it.

Shambler - I think you were headed in the right direction...thanks (to answer your question - I use the sequencer mode on my 01/W. I've never used the "on-board" sequencer - I only use the DAWs I have in my comps. Read below)

I got it figured out...It wasn't a midi problem after all...but I would have never thought this would happen...ok for those that this might happen to...

...So my drums kept changing sounds and the first thing you think of is "midi problem" or some sort of patch that's in there twice that you don't know about and causing a conflict ...turns out that for some reason the "Mr Producer" sound bank (which is a drum kit on my Korg) has developed some sort of glitch. I mean of the 200 sounds that come with the Korg 01/W the sound patch I use most is this particular drum kit. Every other sound works fine but this one...How does that even happen? and why would I even suspect that this could happen to one sound patch only? So it took a while of playing the "isolation" game to narrow it down to this.

So I changed the drum kit and it seems to be working...now have to go back and re-route the sounds so they line up with the new drum patch...but at least I have a work around and can continue to do my work...I think I'm going to have to take it in, and let them re-install all the factory sound banks and see if that fixes the problem...if not...I at least know what the problem is...

Again...Thanks for responding
